About Jean Marie Millinery

Jean Marie selling her hand–made hats at Balmain marketsI studied fashion in the seventies, and have always created with my sewing machine. I went back to study millinery in 1993, and started up my business of Jean Marie Millinery in 1994 with an exhibition of my hats in Braemar Gallery in Springwood. I have also studied Theatrical Millinery and Fine Needlework.

“I make hats, fascinators, race wear, wedding fascinators and hat boxes. I specialise in pure silk handmade flowers to match your wedding gown.”

I continue to study my craft to the present day and have enjoyed learning from other milliners at Millinery Conferences.

I am also very fortunate to know a wonderful retired milliner (now aged 89). She has shared with me her wealth of knowledge and experience in flower–making as it used to be done. I have also inherited all her flower patterns and electric flower–making tools — invaluable equipment from a bygone era.

Please contact me to discuss your millinery requirements and allow me make something exquisite for you.
